As a University of Phoenix instructional designer, you consult with clients to identify training needs and develop relevant and high-quality learning content to improve performance and drive organizational objectives, culture, and compliance. You cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with Learning’s clients to evaluate learning needs

    Responsibilities

    What does an Instructional Designer do?

    Develops learning and delivery strategies including leader guides, participant guides, learning activities, reference guides or job-aids, video scripts, and eLearning. 

    Designs multimedia solutions for all collateral types such as print, presentation, html, eLearning, and video.

    Identifies most effective ways to communicate messages in print and related media using color, graphics, illustrations, photography, and animation.

    Develops partnerships and works collaboratively with clients to produce quality training materials.

    Adheres to best in class instructional design processes that produces effective, high-quality training materials in an efficient manner.

    Collaborates with team members to ensure sound instructional design practices and expand professional knowledge through peer review and discussion.

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in adult education, instructional design or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Four years’ experience applying instructional or graphic design techniques and methodologies to create learning content.
    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud software InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere.
    • Experience using Articulate Storyline or comparable eLearning development software.

    • Thorough understanding of the overall design process and techniques, including conceptualization, design, copy writing, and learning material development.
    • Commitment to develop innovative ideas and concepts.
    • Stellar verbal and written communications skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects.
    • Ability to listen, and respond to internal customer needs in a timely manner.
    • Manages time effectively to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
