  • Overview

    Under general supervision, this position oversees the implementation of strategic initiatives for the University.  This position focuses on integrating project and change management practices to ensure that goals and/or project objectives are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.


    • Familiarizes self and others with the project scope and objectives by conferring with clients to determine and define project outcomes, critical success pathways and feasibility.
    • Work with key stakeholders to ensure efficient and cost-effective implementation of key change initiatives and advise of best practices in the formulation of plans and activities to support project implementation. 
    • Develops a work plan and staffing for each phase of the project and may recruit or assign project personnel as necessary. 
    • Confers with project staff to outline work plan to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.
    • Coordinates the activities of a project team, which includes, but is not limited to identifying the appropriate resources needed and developing schedules to ensure the timely completion of the project.
    • Provides status reports to leadership and stakeholders to keep them apprised of progress and any anticipated issues.




    Basic Requirements:

    • A thorough understanding of the business and technical environments as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Information Technology or having an equivalent combination of formal education and directly related work experience is required. 
    • Thorough understanding of organizational change and proven ability to drive business transformation to improve performance required.
    • Minimum 5 years of project management experience with large scale and complex projects (e.g., CRM implementation) required. 
    • PMP/PgMP certification or multiple advanced certifications directly related to program/project/change/product management (e.g. CAPM, ACP, CCMP) required.

    • Proven ability to interact with executive leadership senior management and facilitate key stakeholders/cross-functional teams through brainstorming and planning sessions to identify system scope, project objectives and define desired functionality and/or expected outcome required.
    • Must be able to use tact, savvy, and discretion in balancing the interests of multiple constituents and stakeholders and demonstrated ability to read the subtle nuances of a group situation and react/plan accordingly.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate tone and style that best represents the situational context internal and external customers and department staff, as described above required.
    • Strong facilitation skills to effectively drive a team towards problem resolution and proven ability to effectively direct and assign the activities of team members on highly complex and comprehensive projects required.
    • High proficiency with project management and presentation development software required.



    Additional Responsiblilites:

    • Minimum 2 years program management and/or senior project management experience preferred.
    • Certified Prosci Change Management practitioner strongly desired.


    • Experience with SCRUM methodology preferred.
    • Must have demonstrated experience in understanding organizational change
    • and possess strong skills in consulting to business managers to achieve improved business results.
