The office of Institutional Effectiveness is seeking an experienced professional in training related to outcomes-based assessment.


This role does not have any direct reports; it supports the creation and delivery of  assessment training to internal customers and supports internal customers with regards to outcomes-based assessment of student learning activities (both academic and co-curricular). The ideal candidate will be a resource in the areas of academic and co-curricular assessment. Experience collaborating with college/school leadership, faculty, and staff in program design, evaluation, the use of assessment results all to improve student learning and assessment practice is highly preferred. Experience supporting assessment of student learning within co-curricular areas is also a plus


  • Provides support and resources to individuals responsible for assessment so they can effectively utilize assessment results to improve academic and co-curricular programs and student learning.
  • Works with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs
  • Promotes processes that enhance the validity and reliability of assessment outcomes.
  • Supports development of training workshops for college/school leadership, faculty, and staff who are responsible for the assessment process. 
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in current assessment practices and research about student learning in higher education.
  • Assists with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructures required to support assessment of student learning.
  • Assists with accreditation activities and may prepare evidence in support of university accreditation assurance reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.


Basic Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in educational technology, instructional design, curriculum and instruction, assessment and evaluation, or other closely related field from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing virtual training materials or courses using course development software

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to work with multiple levels of cross-functional leadership, faculty and staff
  • Experience using Photoshop, Canva or Illustrator
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio/video scripts
  • At least one year  of experience in academic or competency-based assessment of student learning
  • Ability to demonstrate experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills, detail- and results-oriented
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of higher education, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation 
  • Ability to storyboard
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
