Overview

Functions as the Local country’s champion and liaison to accomplish the following:

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures local country accounting personnel submit financial results accurately, efficiently and timely leveraging technology.
  • Support journal entry and reconciliation support for Corporate headquarters.
  • Ensures actual local financial results are in accordance with Corporate Policy and Procedures and US GAAP.
  • Ensures local, state, federal reporting requirements and tax filings are compliant.
  • Fields cash requests to Apollo Global management.
  • Fields requests and compiles relevant subsidiary information to comply with Apollo Global and Apollo Group Corporate Ad Hoc Requests (i.e., tax filings, quarterly reporting schedules, information).
  • Ensures processes and controls exist over accounting transactions and processes.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements to enhance current process controls and efficiencies.
  • Assists local accounting team with researching and resolving complex accounting issues and documentation of those issues.
  • Analyze and review local country’s actual monthly balance sheet, income statement and cash flow results in a timely and consistent manner to provide meaningful and accurate data to management to support operational decision making as well as to raise issues that require attention and support.
  • Communicates with the local accounting team on a timely basis to resolve outstanding issues and to provide value creation and insight to the local accounting team and Apollo Global management.
  • Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
  • 3 to 5 years of experience preferred with a combination of experience in the public accounting and private sector.
  • CPA certification or working towards completing the CPA certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Word and Excel (i.e., working knowledge and experience of using Smart view, preparing pivot tables, scenario applications).

Additional Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Hyperion Consolidations, Navision and Oracle systems.
  • Must have sufficient oral, written and communication skills, including the experience of writing technical position papers, controls and policy and procedures.
  • Must have a working knowledge of an internal control environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate patience while exerting perseverance and influencing skills over others to obtain results.
  • Must be organized, highly motivated, and have the willingness and ability to learn.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to a variety of cultures and customs while being willing to work effectively in different time zones.
  • Must develop and work through initial solutions independently and be self-starter.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency, strong work ethic, and critical thinking skills and have a great attention to detail.
  • Must function well in a team environment that is dynamic, fast paced, and evolving.
  • Must have a working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Requires extended or global hours as necessary.
