The Sacramento, CA campus is searching for a dynamic, community-centric nurse who is looking to make a difference in the future careers of student nurses. This crucial position is responsible for the overall success of student clinical placements through high-level planning, organization, and communication for the School of Nursing FNP Program. If you thrive on building relationships, utilizing connections in the medical field and are passionate about education, this is the position for you. This position is a full-time role, with one clinical day to practice given per week to maintain FNP licensure.

  1. Sustain relationships with current clinical sites
  2. Identify new clinical sites/affiliation agreements
  3. Assist in securing affiliation agreements.
  4. Negotiate clinical placements
  5. Network with clinical agencies to ensure clinical placement sites are available for all clinical courses and appropriate for student experience
  6. Evaluate preceptor and clinical site/agency (communication with nurse manager on student clinical objectives)
  7. Confirm clinical schedules with sites & create clinical roster
  8. Confirm preceptor-student clinical schedules
  9. Maintain clinical site contact roster & compliance paperwork required for preceptorship confirmation
  10. Ensure clinical agency contracts are up to date and comply with State Board of Nursing regulations.
  11. Assist in updating record/spreadsheet in the NP student tracking system to ensure current active affiliation with clinical sites and preceptors are available to students.
  12. Facilitate entry of information of agency and preceptor to the NP student tracking system
  13. Monitor student information entered into the tracking system to ensure compliance with the clinical documents required
  14. Implement the process of submitting required information relating to health forms and clearances by students
  15. Assist in coordinating evaluation of students in clinical sites (site visits)
  16. Communicate with the FNP Program Manager to identify students of non- compliance with requirements for clinical attendance.
  17. Ability to drive to clinical sites to maintain current and build new relationships for clinical placements.


Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, REQUIRED
  • A current, unencumbered RN licensure in CA is REQUIRED
  • Ability to drive to clinical sites to maintain current and build new relationships for clinical placements

Additional Qualifications

  • Family Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of CA is strongly preferred
  • Clinical placement experience, strongly preferred
  • Management and advocacy experience, preferred 
  • Nationally Certified (AANP or ANCC), preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to identify issues; communicate with faculty, students, staff and agencies; and obtain support for the FNP program.
  • Must possess the ability to convey a professional image, as well as effectively represent the organization as appropriate in its relationship with the community.
  • Ability to be available to work throughout the workday, and a few evenings per week, including some weekends and holidays
