Overview

The Business Support Analyst receives issues and requests from internal and external end users. The Business Support Analyst is the first line of support and conducts comprehensive analyses to determine root cause, recommend a solution or escalate to other business/IT teams.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incident reports and requests from internal and external end users; conduct comprehensive analyses on a case-by-case basis to determine impact and scope of incidents and/or requests; recommend solutions and/or escalate within the agreed-upon service level agreements.
  • Perform system setup/configuration or escalated transactional updates needed in the application to meet business needs; manage system interfaces to ensure all data is accounted for and reconciled on a routine basis.
  • Interact and communicate with project team members to support the successful delivery and implementation of system updates and modifications into production
  • Participate in defining testing requirements, including regression, user acceptance and other tests as needed, staging data and perform final test execution to ensure the environment’s stability when code changes are made. 
  • Interface and develop strong working relationships with internal and external team members to understand and resolve their requests.



Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or technology related field or relevant work experience
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries
• Basic understanding of system development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Ability to periodically work some nights, weekends and on call

Additional Qualifications:

• An understanding of the business and the information systems used to manage related information
• Experience in the Higher Education Industry
• An ability to provide suggestions which improve processes to support business results
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Strong research, analysis and problem solving skills
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy; ability to make effective decisions and solve problems with urgency
