As the campus leader in a large market, the Campus Director directs and oversees the operations of the Washington, DC area campus (Arlington, VA main campus and Washington, DC learning center), including community development, academic quality, and career services. The Campus Director analyzes areas of growth, profit, and opportunity for the organization and maintains accountability for growth and/or market penetration. This position is accountable for attaining all campus goals and objectives as set forth by leadership.
1. Market Strategy
a. Coordinates, executes and refines market strategy for the campus market.
b. Provides market intelligence for growth / stabilization of the campus; analyzes areas of opportunity for the organization. Implements plans as appropriate and maintains accountability for growth or market penetration set forth by upper management, including additional sources of revenue such as day rentals, testing services, and other opportunities.
c. Ensures operational efficiency (i.e., expense management, group size, space utilization); oversees the campus operations budget in conjunction with the established budgets.
d. Participates and may lead or facilitate campus task forces or councils. Directs the planning, developing, and implementation of necessary policies and procedures, activities, and programs to maximize the effectiveness of campus activities.
2. Community Outreach
a. Represents the organization in key relationship with the business, government and community within the campus market.
b. Develop and enhance brand awareness within the community through activities such as student and alumni engagement; community college relationships; workforce solutions partnerships; etc.
3. Classroom Experience
a. Actively assess, manage, and enhance academic quality through the classroom experience, interaction, and delivery.
b. Monitor academic reports; oversee faculty effectiveness.
c. Create academic visibility in the market; ensure faculty is involved in community and networking engagements.
4. Student Success
a. Determine, oversee and implement local career achievement services and outcomes.
b. Facilitates open communication between the University and its services to the total market population for the purpose of impacting student retention.
c. Review key student trends, including NPS surveys.
d. Connect current students, market alumni and community partners through community and career focused events.
5. Supervisory Responsibilities
a. Directs personnel actions and staff/faculty development as needed.
b. Work with leadership to determine staffing needs and proper development opportunities for staff.
c. Includes direct supervision for campus management team and indirect supervision for campus staff.
d. Some travel may be required (5-10%)
